Taylor Hickney, born in Dallas, Texas, is a writer, editor, and teacher living in Brooklyn. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma, magna cum laude, she pursued and received her MFA in fiction from the New School, where she studied under Marie-Helene Bertino, Sigrid Nunez, and Darcey Steinke. She serves as a reader for [PANK] magazine.
She finished the Columbia Publishing Course in November 2020 and is now editing freelance as well as teaching. She believes editing is a precious task and dreams of helping writers to make their visions come true, to create something human together.
Her own fiction and journalism have appeared in X-R-A-Y magazine, World Literature Today magazine, D magazine, Boyd Street magazine, Fiction Southeast, The Aster Review, and RoundUpZine. In 2018, she was long listed for Room magazine’s Creative Nonfiction Contest. She’s been on a podcast! She has a complicated relationship to her Texas roots and loves her Siberian husky named Jagger.
